This 2-PART workshop is designed for developing a common approach and language to suicide prevention through a map of best practices to guide care delivery and communication with colleagues, consumers, and their supports. Participants will join a facilitated learning space to engage with others and based on specially designed video modules taught by clinical and lived experience faculty to explore strategies and approaches for working with youth experiencing suicidal distress. These videos teach, demonstrate, and prompt group interaction around applying suicide prevention best practices day to day with those at risk and their supports. Discussion will be encouraged as part of the learning.
This workshop will be split into 2 days : May 12th and May 14th
OBJECTIVES (PART TWO) May 14th
- Last Two Tasks of the SafeSide Framework for Suicide Prevention is covered:
1. RESPOND: Four skills to equip you and your team in responding to suicide risk, including considerations for determining appropriate supports and strategies for efficient, effective documentation.
2. EXTEND: Extend your care beyond the initial contact to support wellness and recover, including strategies to engage family and supports in the journey.

- Cost: FREE: Registration costs supported by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and SAMHSA federal grant funding.

- Additional: Community Mental Health Professionals working in or collaborating closely with school systems

Cancellations for Events
Participant Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing events@cesa6.org. Registrants who cancel at least 14 calendar days prior to the event start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable service or material fees. Cancellations received 7 to 13 calendar days before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the event. Participants who do not attend without prior notice ("no call, no show") will be charged the full event fee.
Event Changes or Cancellations by CESA 6: CESA 6 reserves the right to change or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. Participants will be notified promptly via email and offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future event.
Registration Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to another individual from the same organization at no additional cost. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event start date to request a transfer.
