School crises comes in all shapes and sizes. They can encompass illness, loss, health concerns, weather events, violence and death. They all have one thing in common: They impact the school community in a way that interrupts the normal functioning of the school.
Topic: Safety Operations Calendar (SOC)
The Safety Operations Calendar (SOC) is an essential guide for managing school safety. It brings all required safety tasks for the school year into one simple, organized document. More than just a checklist, the SOC actively assigns every safety task, such as monthly drills and annual safety audits, to specific staff members, ensuring accountability and timely completion. Using this calendar helps districts stop managing "safety by memory" and start building a strong, reliable program where nothing is missed.
OBJECTIVES
- Learning about the SOC.
- Building a SOC tailored to your district's unique needs.
- Map out your district's safety tasks.
- Establish timelines and expectations.
- Assign roles and responsibilities.
- Leave the training with a Calendar that clearly defines your safety operations for the upcoming school year.
