School crises comes in all shapes and sizes. They can encompass illness, loss, health concerns, weather events, violence and death. They all have one thing in common: They impact the school community in a way that interrupts the normal functioning of the school.

Topic: Supportive Response to Crisis

Through discussion and activity we will explore team development, crisis communication, and improving efficacy in crisis recovery plans. Opportunities will be given to understand the distinction between safety and mitigation work and more extended crisis management, as well as the continuum of psychological response and recovery. 

OBJECTIVES

• Gain support and insight for effectively growing and developing competent, confident, and prepared crisis response teams.
• Work with your own materials along with tools, and templates provided to accelerate continued improvements required by current legal and best practice standards in this continuously evolving field.
